Review content:
We went to Harry's last night for our 4yr wedding anniversary. I was excited since I'd looked online and saw Filet Mignon was on the menu. The prices were higher than the Buffalo Chop House, so I was sure we'd be in for a great experience, as I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". I was also looking forward to a seafood starter. Everything was looking up when we arrived. Our waiter, Dana, was very nice and selected an excellent wine for us. We ordered the steak house style salad and the seafood chowder. The salad was soggy and drowned in a pesto style sauce with way too many capers. It was an odd combination, but OK. The seafood chowder was fine, but I expected a chowder that would knock my socks off. The base was creamy, and did not pick up the seafood flavor all that much. I liked the red potatoes with the skins in the chowder. We both ordered the Filet Mignon, medium for my husband and medium rare for me. We also got the broccoli for two and the giant baked potato. It arrived, gray with a hint of pink - I couldn't even get any juice out of it when I pressed it. Medium rare means red translucent cool center and dripping red. Nope, not even close. I cut it in front of the waiter, he wanted me to taste it to be sure I didn't like it and left for a bit. Nope. He took it back. Then, someone dropped off another steak and said "enjoy your filet of sirloin", which was on the menu. I sawwed into a tough, marbled cut of meat. Cooked appropriately, but not Filet Mignon! I tasted to be sure, and got the charred, heavy flavor and tougher texture of sure enough, sirloin! I told the waiter - he declared it was filet mignon. Nope. Plus, the broccoli was served luke warm (now cold) and the potato without chives. I didn't eat the sides awaiting my steak. At this point, though, I gave up. Forget the entree. He said "at least let me get you a dessert" and he apologized. It was on the bill. Along with the sides. The steak was not. Disappointing. Pros: great view, ok ambience (a bit dated), valet parking, decent service Cons: average food despite extravagant expense,
