I decided to get my wedding cake at Takes the Cake because the staff was very helpful and they had a large book of sample cakes I thought exhibited their artistry. I brought a picture of the cake that I wanted and was assured that they would make it look just like the picture. $500+ later, on the day of my wedding, everything was lovely, except the cake. It looked like someone had made it at home. It looked nothing like the picture I had given them. There was no ""color"" on the cake at all as I had requested and it was such a disappointment that my husband and I almost didn't want to draw attention to it by cutting it. We did, and the cake itself was not as good as ones we have gotten for birthdays from Costco. Something obviously went wrong. I believe that they lost my order and on the day of the wedding tried to come up with something, but needless to say, the work was very unprofessional and I would not recommend this bakery to anyone for wedding or special event cakes.
Pros: The person who assisted me seemed to understand my desires.
Cons: Failure to follow-through and provided a below-average product on my wedding day.
