I have a VW GTI, I called for a quote on a 20k service, was told they hadn't done them yet, but knew they were coming up. I was given a quote of $165 to $185 for the service. When I called and scheduled the appointment, I reconfirmed my quote and was told yes that sounds about right. Took our car in, went to pick up the car and the total was $466.40. Told us that we needed to have our spark plugs replaced every 10k. When asked about the quote, we were told the gentleman that had given us the quote wasn't in. We had to pay the cost. When we were home we pulled our owners binder out and found out that the spark plugs don't need to be placed until 60k miles, and other services they had performed were incorrect. I called the following morning to speak to the gentleman that had given me the quote. He told me that he was wrong the computer softwear they use is updated all the time and since the time I have called, it must have updated and he was sorry. I told him but you gave me a quote and no one even bothered to call me to let me know it was more. He said.. I don't know what you want me to do. I asked about a break as the quote was off, refused. So I just feel that our car was a training car for their techs and not a very good one. Anyone with a german auto pay the dealer at least they are up front and honest with you. I will let every I know not to use them. What they claim and what they are, are two different things.
