We reserved a room for my parents at the Hyatt as a special anniversary / birthday gift. The reservations were made for a king size bed / view room. We also instructed the hotel to put all charges on the credit card that was used to make the reservation. When my parents arrived, they informed them that the King beds were all booked...all that was left were two double beds without a view. Thank goodness my father said that the reservations were for a King suite and he put his foot down to not accept what they were offering. They proceeded with offering a double queen size bed and said that's all that was available. The bathroom was extremely disappointing. The only way to hold the water in the tub was by putting a towel down near the drain. To make matters worse, they put all the charges on my father's credit card (which they required when he checked in). The room was on the first floor near the front desk. This is hardly the setting that I was hoping for when this reservation was made. The place itself was pretty shot...very surprising that the "Hyatt" name is actually associated with this hotel. There was duct tape holding down the carpeting in the main area and to be quite honest, the furniture was on par with the lesser motels that you might consider when driving cross country...not exactly a romantic celebratory setting. The only thing the hotel has going for it is the scenery outside the window...which is something the hotel can't quite fork up.
