Businiess name:  Uno Salon

Review content:
I'll have to agree totally with the other negative response. I've been to some of the best hair salons in NYC and Uno Salon doesn't even come close to being a top hair salon. Uno himself is pretentious, arrogant, and is not as talented in cutting hair as he thinks he is. I've never been to a hair salon where they don't have a quick consultation with you before the shampoo person washes your hair but Uno doesn't do this. It's almost like being at a chop shop haircutting place,i.e.,wash hair, 10-15minute haircut, 20 minute blowdry-DONE and all for $100. Now I've paid in upwards of $175 for a haircut and it was worth every penny but Uno's haircutting technique is very amature at best. I told him that I don't want a bob and he gives me one (probably doesn't know what a bob is). I told him that I don't like it pouffy around my face and he does just that . He never used shears (scissors) only a razor and I'm not talking about a nice modern looking straight edge razor but some plastic thing that looks like it can't be sharpened--which is of upmost important--it should be able to be sharpened so the razor doesn't make the hair all fuzzy (from a dull razor). Also, the only other tool he used was the thinning shears! Thinning shears are old fashioned and should be obsolete. It's a lazy way of cutting hair. Yes, I have thick hair but there's a way of "cutting out" using shears alone and not resorting to thinning shears which leaves hair fuzzy, etc. Also, one side of my head is totally different than the other so I have two different haircuts going on--he didn't even bother to check all sides. I couldn't believe that he only spent at the most 15 minutes cutting my hair and at $100--what a rip! So, Uno doesn't execute a hairstyle very well and he only spends around 15 mintutes--I'd be better off going to Cost Cutters or the same anyway. At the end Uno knew that I wasn't all that thrilled so he offered me his wife's name and says that she does creative cut. Yeah, right. Pros: Stone Mill Bakery Cons: High price doesn't reflect talent
