Businiess name:  Skylark's
Review by:  Elise L.
Review content:
Skylark's is an institution in Fairhaven - the place to go for weekend breakfast. Whether it's residents or tourists who make it so popular is hard to say. It certainly exudes the sort of home-y charm that appeals to a certain age set. Old advertising prints hang on the walls, there's a fireplace in one corner, the windows have stained glass at the top. But it works. It feels a bit like going to your aunt's house for Sunday breakfast. Really, breakfast is the meal I would recommend Skylark's for. Perhaps it's just that my expectations for breakfast are so much lower (anything other than cereal is a treat), but it seems to me that this is the only meal that Skylark's really exceeds my expecations in making. At lunch, their clam chowder suffers from sandy clams and bland flavor. Their dinners aren't very flavorful. But breakfast? Perfect toast, beautiful omlettes, and my mother claims that they have the best scrambled eggs she's ever tasted. New renovations have added plenty of seating to the restaurant, so if you've stayed away for fear of the breakfast crowd, now's your oppurtunity.
