Open for Dinner, no 3/7/2008

I’d always heard of the Café Campagne brunch, but no where did I ‘hear’ of Café Campagne’s dinner. So with all due enthusiasm, I pay homage here for a long overdue stake in the ground: Café’ Campagne is open for dinner to impress. Wow. Our Tartare, Calamari, Cassoulet, Chevre salad and wine were deceptively simple yet so well done. The spices and touch, the taste, and the overall presentation were amazing for a bistro setting. I got the feeling I was in the most sincere representation of Parisian dining anyone could hope to see state side. I’m sure there are others out there that do this same ‘concept’ well, but this went beyond concept and into the realm of totally authentic, as if it had been torn out of the ground on Renault and Champs Elysees and set right on the ground in Seattle at Pine & Post Alley. What a treat. We’ll be back more
