Took our VW golf to University VW and then to Carl's. Both diagnosed the problems as (1) broken breather hose and pipe and (2) Throttel Adaptation at Limit.
Compare for yourself:
1. University VW - Recommended (1) replacing broken breather hose and pipe and (2) Replacement of Throttle Body. Total Cost: $931.00 (on top of $100.00 diagnostic cost)
2. Carl's - Recommended (1) replacing broken breather hose and pipe and (2) Adapting throttel body with scanner. Total Cost: $131.24
I took the car to Carl's and it is working fine. Saved myself $800.00. And Carl was much more pleasant to deal with.
