Get Creative Drinks With Tapioca Express BOBARRISTA 5/25/2006

Tapioca Express is good stuff on hot summer days and nights. If you stop inside, the whole side of the wall is an itemized menu. That's how many flavors they offer! I personally haven't tried every selection of boba they offer, but sometime during my lifetime I will get around to it. I've tried less than half of all boba flavors. It's hard to try everything...and no, it's far from being like Baskin Robins. You cannot just try a sample scoop of boba! They have a huge selection of the classic boba drinks, and the additional "customize your own add-in's": with boba, without boba, with gelatin, without gelatin, blended with ice, not blended with ice. You get my point? I personally tend to be a "outside the box" creative boba customer, so I try to give the ladies behind the blenders a real brain teaser combination. It's pure enjoyment just to watch them whip up something I just imagined in my head, while I was standing in the long line, from their customizable menu. I'm notorious for doing that! I think they have high skills comparable to a Starbucks Barrista. I coin nickname BOBARRISTA for those Tapioca Express servers. Tapioca Express also serves light finger food snacks like calamari and fries. They come in little platters with little skewers. No forks, because they have no time for utensils. The spicy snacks are very good, but it might force you to make you order another round of boba. Don't say I didn't warn you! Tapioca Express has a funny name to it, because it's far from being express. The people really love their tapioca! I have seen lines spilling out the entrance doors. The place isn't huge either. There is very little leg room and very few small tables and chairs. You may not want to bring the entire Stephen M. White Drill Team Squad, but narrow it down to just a select few & elite small military. It's really noisy. I don't understand how young teen-schoolers and collegiates can bring their books there to do homework. It is not the "homework" zone of concentration. The constant grinding of ice is annoying and is not the place to "chillax" as some people have mentioned in earlier reviews. I know this review sounds so negative, but Tapioca Express is a routine stop for me after work. I like their boba service. I really like Tapioca Express, but I just don't think it's my first choice as far as going there to hang out and "chillax". Tapioca Express is a quick stop and go joint. It's good stuff, but I think they really need to invest in heavy plexi-glass that rock band drummers use, to muffle the sound of Tapioca Express Master Blender Concert Chorale. more
