Is it really that cheap 4/14/2006

No. There a few things that are cheap, and a lot of stuff that's not. The prices are comparable to the Gap in many ways, but don't get marked down nearly as often. The biggest selling point is that they have a huge inventory, and everything's very very trendy. I would say the quality of their clothing isn't very good...not exactly clothing that'll last you years. Also not clothing that'll still be in style next year. The clothes are often very cute, just not exactly practical. They do have some cheap jewelry though. It's worth checking out. The Downtown Crossing location is really messy, but it's huge. Go early in the day before the crowds (or, on the weekdays when people are at work). The Newbury St. location just opened this week, and it was a big disappointment. The space isn't nearly big enough for how much they've crammed in. It's unpleasantly crowded (and not just by people). Also, don't expect to get any service, while the stores are always well-staffed, the staff appears to have little interest in helping customers. more
