Al's is hand's down my favorite place to go late-night (and even during the day). It's open 24 hours, has a great variety of food (from hamburgers, chicken fingers, Greek, other offerings, etc). If you show your student ID, you get a free drink with a dinner. Even better, though, is their sweet tea: it has a hint of mint in it, which makes it fantastic. It is easily the best sweet tea in Birmingham! Also, in the spring,summer, and fall, this is a really nice place to sit outside and eat, either with a table with an umbrella, next to the fountain, or in the open. I highly recommend this place.
