The Missouri Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful places in the city. The plants are amazing, and the Japanese garden is gorgeous. They often have differnt events for the family. The current one is a glass exhibit with Dale Chihuly (an amaing glass blower). Great place for weddings, but a little expensive. The ticket prices are a little high, but well worth it for a day of strolling around looking at the beautiful flowers. It is cheaper if you are a member or live in the city. School trips in the school year can make it a little croweded. If you can go for a night time exhibit I reccomend it, the gardens are beautiful lit at night.
