Industrial design in an old mansion

Monday, July 31, 2006
A lovely museum in one of New York's great old mansions, the Cooper-hewitt focuses largely on industrial design. I've seen exhibits there on teh evolution of the keyboard as well as the telephone. If you like the beauty of every day objects and blieves the folks at Apple are artists this is the museum for you. Even if that's not your scene, you should absolutely check it out for the gorgeousnes of the building. They've retained enough of the original innards of the mansion (and carpets that run very properly only down the center of stairs) that you can easily imagine how life once was here.
