Great day or (late) night 2/13/2006

If it's after 10PM and you've got a craving for shrimp chow foon, it might be a job for Chang's House. This outpost is one of Brighton's best answers for late-night hunger pains. The encyclopedic (seven-page, 183 items) menu is available until midnight (1AM on Fridays and Saturdays), offering a choice of eating Szechuan, Hunan, Cantonese or Mandarin. Chang's chefs are especially adept at Mandarin specialties like hot and sour soup and General Tsou's chicken. Also appealing is the wide assortment of dishes for vegetarians -- among them tofu with black bean sauce, sauteed string beans and vegetable lo mein. One look at the antiseptic dining room and you'll understand why Chang's isn't known for its atmosphere. With only a $1 fee for delivery, however, you may never need to step foot in here. more
