The closest thing to surfing in Minnesota. 1/29/2006

This place is awesome - one of my top spot's on a hot summer's day. The main attraction here is the Wave Pool. It is a large pool that starts out at zero depth and goes to 6 feet. The wave generator runs in 15 min on/10 min off intervals (for safety) and has different patterns that it generates. The waves get very high and when they are running, it is terribly hard to get to the 6 feet section because you basically have to get passed the waves and that's hard(you basically are trying to jump them) - they are high and very strong. Once you get to the "top" as I call it (the 6 ft area) you just kinda rock back and forth, it's real mellow. Once you start going back down, like about 4 ft and you hit a wave just right, you will fly, literally airborne over the tops of peoples heads to the end of the pool - It's crazy but so much fun. You have the option to rent a tube or not, but my strong, strong advice is - get a tube. You will be safer in a tube, because it is so easy to get knocked down under water. Also, if you have a child with you, even a 8 to 10 year old - make them get a tube to avoid injuries. This waterpark also has 4 water slides that vary widely, a lil tot waterpark, sand park with running water, a nice concession area, picnic area and lap pool with basketball hoops. more
