An unusually entertaining tourist spot 3/15/2006

Ford's Theater is a must-see for all Washington-bound tourists. Although it definitely has a morbid edge to it, you can actually walk through the still-active theater to the booth where Lincoln was shot. After wandering around upstairs, be sure to check out the interpretative center in the basement. As a historian, I rate is as highly educational and just really, really interesting. It's a combo of artifacts and narrative explaining the whole assassination story. more
