Flatrate was responsible for the moving of our furniture/household items from New York to their storage facility and then on to Santa Fe, NM. Unfortunately some of the items that we saw being loaded in the truck were never received in our home in Santa Fe. Seven pieces of art were not delivered. Some were antiques passed down from my wife's grandmother. 100% invaluable. Essentially they were stolen. We called the company and there was not one phone call back. Not one. I even called and told them my wife had been crying for the past hour and they didn't make one phone call. They sent emails stating they will look for it and that we can do insurance claims at .60 a lb. This doesn't cut it, as by their calculation if we owned the Mona Lisa, it would be worth roughly 20 bucks. Here is a full list of stolen items. 1) An antique wood panel triptych from Thailand with engraved gold and painted carvings of colorful Thai scenes. This is approximately 4 feet by 3 feet when you lay all three panels out side by side. Approximately $3600. 2) A painting of a boat scene in a white frame. This was a set of two --- we have one but the other didn't make it. It is approximately 2 feet by 20 inches. Purchased in Rome fifty years ago for $4000. With inflation alone this is now worth 29112.29. - Hide quoted text - 3) A photograph of central park in the fall that is printed onto canvas. It is approximately three feet by one foot. Purchased in 2008 for $1000. 4) A mirror in a large gold frame - at least 4 feet by 4 feet. Approximately $450. 5) A framed world map - approximately 3 ft by 3 ft. Approximately $100. 6) An antique Chinese painting of horses running in a gold frame. approximately 1 ft by 1 and a half ft. Approximately $600. 7) A photograph on canvas of a green field and an empty road curving over a hill. This is approximately 2 feet by one foot. Purchased in New Zealand in 2006 for $600.
