Mercedes mechanic excellent; dealer, horrible 3/29/2011

For years, 1997-2005, I entrusted my several Mercedes to the Mercedes man, Jarrell Plumley, at this former Mercedes dealer. Jarrell would diagnose my car's ills, and I'd order parts from Adsit. The system worked very well. Then a cursed new manager, a man who knew not Joseph, came on the scene and ruined a long-standing good relationship, Jarrell had to order all parts from Beck Mercedes in Charlotte (why not Smith in Charleston?). Not only were these parts high-priced, Lewis DOUBLED Beck's prices, as I soon discovered. Shipping took up to two weeks. If the part was wrong, then another two weeks without my car ensued. Finally I went in for a flasher switch and was quoted a price of $113. When I found the same switch, German made and new, the exact same switch for (I kid you not) $13, sadly I ended my ties with Lewis. I've never screamed at any merchant before, but I did so with this new, smarty-pants know-it-all. He blamed his "smart" new policy on some Chevrolet owner who had ordered parts from another shop, then held Lewis responsible when they didn't work correctly. But this was not I, nor any other of Jarrell Plumley's Mercedes customers. There was no one to turn to. Avaricious Lewis Chevrolet cannot be trusted, and, as this Beckley dealership abandons its faithful, old customers, so it too deserves one thing only: itself to be abandoned. [Thanks, Judy, for giving me a forum to unload my long-standing ire!] more
