There have been many great food combinations throughout history:
Cheese and Hamburger.
Sweet N Sour Sauce and Chicken.
Spaghetti and Meatball.
Lamb and tunafish (Wait, delete that one).
Add butter chicken to that list. After trying out Indian food for the first time at Jaipur in Fairfax, I was intrigued by all the great sounding dishes they had. Asking the waiter what he'd recommend, he quickly suggested the house specialty... butter chicken.
Hmm... I like butter and I like chicken... Why not?
While waiting for my food, I checked out the restaurants atmosphere which is more on the upscale side. The ambiance is also nice and quiet; great for those seeking deep, meaningful conversations while chowing down on their somosas (potatoes and peas fried together. A must). If you're a cheapskate then go with the nan (like bread for Indian meals). The service was also helpful for Indian food novices.
Moment of truth...
I have to admit, I was a bit confused when it first came out. It was orange and soupy based. I thought that there may have been a mistake with my order but the waiter reassured me there was no mistake.
My reaction after trying it...
Butter + Chicken = Delicious. Enough said.
