I really really wanted to like this place. The garlicky smell, the nifty decor and the history of the location is so fun and funky that you would think that the food would match. But... no. I really don't get why this place is always packed, and gets good reviews. The salads aren't any better than I'd get at McDonald's, and the pizza is ... well, for lack of a better word, disgusting. The thick crust is okay, but that's where the good stuff ends. The sauce tastes just like they poured it out of one of the cans "decorating" the place, and has no flavor to it. Okay, I take that back. It does have a flavor. GARLIC. So much garlic that you'll be finding yourself burping it up for days afterwards. So much garlic that your spouse or partner will refuse to kiss you. So much garlic that even I, a person of Middle Eastern origin (who grew up dipping my chicken in a puree of garlic and lemon juice), finds it too garlicky.
In addition to the mountains of garlic on/in the pizza, another upsetting thing about it is the lack of fresh ingredients. I mean, c'mon-- Canned mushrooms? In Seattle? If it was dead winter and we were in the Yukon, I'd understand compromising on ingredient quality. But here it just doesn't add up.
And then there is the infamous "Big O" dessert. People rave about it. Me? I don't understand the hype. I like warm gooey cookies just as much as the next gal, but again, the quality of the ingredients were sub-par. I think they just buy a tub of cheap cookie dough from Sysco, and call it good.
All in all, I don't think Madame K's is a very good resturant. Maybe if they spent just a little bit more on better quality ingredients and maybe tried to put some other flavors besides garlic in their food I'd be more impressed. But for the money you'll be spending, there are better places to go.

Without a doubt, Pine Lake Pizzera has the best delivery pizza on the Sammamish Plateau-- So don't order from those chains again!
Everything about their pizza is delicious. From the tasty crusts, to the high-quality toppings and the yummy cheese, you will not be dissappointed. Add one of their Caesar salads (their caesar dressing is really good), and you'll have a great weeknight "I-don't-feel-like-cooking" meal.
Our favorites? The Margarita and the Meat Feast. We like them so much, we haven't really tried any of the other fancy ones... but I'm sure they're great too!

While I was wary at first to visit a wine and cigar shop in the middle of Pacific Place, I am so glad I did.
The service was extremely friendly, and the products suggested (great recommendations on cigars) were wonderful-- I even found a bottle of the Leonetti Cab my parents in California have been wanting...
Even if you know nothing about wine, go-- they'll be able to help you pick a bottle to bring to you next dinner party that will impress.

I received a floral arrangement from my husband made by Trudy's Flowers recently and oh-my-gawd were they spectacular.
Not only was the arrangement incredibly innovative (my husband had requested that only specific flowers be used), but the flowers were fresh-- they lasted more than a week in our warm summer house. On top of that, after seeing the visa bill, I can say that the pricing was very good (especially for what he got).
If you want to make a good impression, send your loved one a bouquet from Trudy's-- you will not be disappointed.

As a whole, I tend to be less than impressed with Gene Juarez. I have very long hair, and get it colored every other month to the tune of $200-300 each time.
Since I don't live in New York and Oribe himself isn't tending to my locks, I kind of think that's a lot to be spending around here. And they do a good job. But nobody besides my colorist is ever really that nice to me, they act snooty, and they always make me feel out of place.
If it weren't for the fact that Terez did an outstanding job with my hair, I would be going someplace else in a heartbeat.

Sometimes when I go to Sushi-Ten, I know what it feels like to eat at a New York deli-- abused and ignored by the waitstaff, but in for a great meal.
To be fair, they aren't rude to you on purpose, it's just that they only ever have one wait-person. Total. For the whole resturant. So if you want a refill on your water or your sake, tough. You should order the big one and get over being thirsty.
That being said, Sushi-Ten has ALL YOU CAN EAT, yes, ALL YOU CAN EAT sushi for $21.95 per person every day. And it's not crappy and fake like Todai or The Eating Factory. It's good, and you can have as much as you want. So come hungry and wearing pants with an elastic waistband because by the time you're done stuffing yourself with delish ahi tuna or snowcrab handrolls you won't want to have anything to do with the orange-vanilla ice cream they end your meal with.

I've been a member of the Downtown (5th & Olive) location for about 9 months now, and despite the fact that it's not the prettiest place, I will continue to be a member due to the great staff and no-pressure atmosphere.
What's good: Personal trainers, daily yoga and aerobic classes, low-key atmosphere (I usually hate working out with the weight equipment at the gym, but I don't feel weird or out of place here).
What's awful: The locker rooms (yuck. I prefer to be sweaty at work and really don't enjoy seeing so many of the over 40 crowd naked), music, lack of televisions to watch while on treadmill, etc.

My husband and I took the Hands-On SUSHI WORKSHOP with Chef Hiroshi... and it was fabulous! We had a wonderful time, learned a lot, and then got to eat all of our hard work. In the end, we may have decided to leave the sushi-making to the pros, but we had a great time while we were at it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Because InSpa is a chain you will always know what to expect... The quality is consistent throughout all their locations. You will not receive the same luxuries or quality of service as other more pricey day spas (for example: their in-house products that are used for facials aren't up to my standard, anyway), but for the price and convenience it can't be beat. Best of all, their tipping policy (there is no tipping) takes away all the pressure of figuring out what's fair, etc, leaving every portion of your experience stress-free.
