The Captain Cook is feeling pretty tired these days, especially with the newly upgraded Sheraton. The Captain Cook is one of the original Anchorage high rise hotels and it shows. Like much of Alaska, it needs a thorough vacuuming and a paint job. If you like dark, dark wood, semi-comfortable but "antique-y" furniture, and yellow tile in your bathroom, this is for you. But - if you are looking for refurbished 2005 happy / clean / friendly / upbeat, give the Sheraton a try.
