Leave a fake telephone and email! They are persistant 10/21/2009

This is a rant - I apologize, but I got my third call from Kaplan yesterday trying to sell me a very expensive class, and after I had asked them to remove me from the contact list as I was not interested in signing up that exact moment. This morning I woke up to sales emails...come on dudes, have your phone people talk to your email people! I am not sure if it is the local office, or a call center, but when I say I am not interested, please don't keep calling! Preface: My girlfriend and I took a practice test for the LSAT and MCAT and the experience was positive- the front desk staff was friendly, and there was a surprising amount of room in the classrooms. We had been told that it was going to be crowded, so we were expecting a zoo. We were surprised by the scores we got from the practice tests, and we both will be looking at some sort of program. So why the low rating? We felt like we were being sold a timeshare - Within a day I got calls from three different people in their office trying to sell me a very expensive class. There were subtle scare tactics about the cost of law and med school- well no crap, it is expensive- But then my BS antennas came up when they suggested that by preparing with Kaplan I would likely get a scholarship or extra financial help. My sister got a 760 on the GMAT (almost perfect score), ran a successful non-profit and is a consultant for a F100 firm, and she didn't get a check from Ed McMahon from B-Schools. I call BS. By the third call from a different person, I asked them to remove me from the call list. With the effort that they are spending to try and get us to sign up, no wonder the classes are so expensive! In talking with my advisor, it seems that all the companies offer practice tests, and I think I am going to stick to a local company that spends their time teaching people rather than calling them. more
