This is a 24 hour key membership local gym, located in the basement of Bud's True Value Hardware in Mount Vernon, Indiana. Entrance is in the back next to Subway sandwich. The gym is MUCH larger than one expects. I'm guessing 1800 - 2000 square feet total.
The owners keep the place very clean, there's no bad smell or dampness at all and there's a lot of equipment, treadmills and free weights.
Their year starts October 1st and 2009 membership was $225 for the whole year. You can start other months for decreased costs. Often you'll have the place to yourself and won't be bothered.
No one under 14 allowed, members younger than 18 must have supervision from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Overall, it's a great place to work out and probably the only place in Mount Vernon Indiana. It could be improved with some newer equipment and general updates but it is inexpensive and meets most needs.
One thing I asked for, to fix a squeak in a stairclimber, hasn't been addressed yet. But overall I've been happy there and my fitness level has greatly improved.
