The best sale experience. The worst post-sale customer service. 7/15/2013

The best sale experience. The worst post-sale customer service. I bought a 2013 Nissan Frontier from Nissan of Tacoma in March. While, Mike, the salesperson tried to use some typical car dealership tactics with me (like charging a $150 for etching the VIN on the window, despite the vehicle coming etched from the manufacturer, unaware of how to get a military license plate, and pressing for positive reviews after the sale) I set him straight. I bought multiple new vehicles in the past and I am aware of gimmicks that salespeople use. Nonetheless, after he understood my no-bs methodology to buying a vehicle, he became more helpful and straightforward. Everything went smoothly after that and the whole experience was pleasant, albeit a dirty vehicle upon delivery (it was night time, couldn’t see.) After few weeks, my vehicle started having some issues. The first was a rattling noise when the AC is turned on and it becomes very loud after the first fan setting. The second was a smell that only happens when I am in reverse gear (manual trans.) I have driven many manuals before with no issues. When I took the vehicle to service, I encountered a rude attitude from staff and a poor management of an already scheduled appointment. The woman at the service, without checking the vehicle first, blamed my driving habits and arrogantly explained how Nissan’s transmission is superior to anything I drove before. The noise was supposedly fixed (still loud, but they had the audacity to claim that the problem is a feature, not a problem, of all 2013 Nissan Frontiers,) the burning smell could not be duplicated, and my vehicle ended up with multiple scratches on the rear side of the truck bed. When I contacted my salesperson, he was not prompt in replying and I had to take off work and go to the dealership. His excuse? His manager was supposed to contact me and work out something. When I got there, they refused, with a rude behavior, to address the scratches because they don’t have a machine in the shop that could possibly scratch my vehicle like that. I didn’t want to make a scene as I was in uniform. Ironically, they claim Military friendliness. I contacted Nissan Corp and filed a claim. Simply put. The worst car purchase experience ever. They tarnished Nissan’s reputation. I will never buy or recommend their stealership or Nissan as brand. I gave them multiple chances to address the issues but they refused to honor their commitment to a good post-sale customer service. Also, I understand sure-critic is not viewed by many potential customers, so I decided to put this review in other popular websites like google and facebook. more
