I own a used car dealership and one of the cars I was financing for a customer was towed in with a crack on the underside of the engine. I was concerned that the engine might be damaged. I left to buy oil and when I returned he helped me start the car while I poured oil into the engine. When we started the car, the loud knocking noise from the engine made it obvious the car was ruined and worth less than the cost to repair it. Because of his help in allowing me to examine the car before deciding to pay to remove the car, I saved myself hundreds of dollars that would have otherwise been wasted on a car that was nearly worthless. He and his wife also helped me with information I needed to file a complaint against another tow company that apparently did something improper. No one likes tow companies that tow their car for 'private' parking, but in this case, which was different, I was given assistance above and beyond what is typical.
