Avoid this restraurant--portions are small, prices are high, and owners go back on their word! 8/7/2012

In today's age of social media and online review sites, how many of you think this is a good business strategy? I innocently parked in one of Global Restaurant's reserved parking spaces today while visiting a tenant at 3440 Toringdon Way in Charlotte, NC today. The restaurant is open from 3:00pm to 11:00pm - according to their Facebook page. I parked in a spot at 11:30am and came out to my car at 4:30pm, only to find that the owner of Global Restaurant had taken his enormous Honda truck and blocked my car in so that I could not leave. Granted Global pays for these parking spots and my parking there was my fault. I'm not looking for sympathy but how many of you think this is a good way to win friends and influence people to ever want to step foot in your restaurant again. I looked around and there were 5 spots open when he decided to use his truck to block my car, so I doubt I was taking a spot from one of his patrons. In fact, I didn't see any patrons. For me, I would have given the person the benefit of the doubt. Then, I would have notified the property management company that someone is parked in one of my reserved spots and ask them to send out an email to the tenants to have that person move their car. Or, how about a nice note left on my windshield notifying me kindly that these are reserved spots for restaurant patrons and a 10% off coupon to come in and try out the restaurant or stop by for a drink on the house? Yes, again I was wrong but what in the world has happened to kindness? What would you have done if you were the owner of this restaurant and you wanted to make sure this didn't go viral on the internet and create bad will amongst potential patrons of your restaurant? Would you do the same thing? Sometimes you can win the battle and lose the war! See pics in photo gallery. \r Pros: No pros Cons: Back in a very dark corner of a parking garage. Prices are very high. Portions are small. Very cramped place inside. more
