We went to Sammyâ??s for the first time because we received a birthday promotion for one free entre or $14 off a pizza. The pizza is very similar to Papa Murphyâ??s but at twice the price. The crust is better than PMâ??s but if you like toppings you will likely be disappointed with Sammyâ??s Pizza. The atmosphere has tremendous potential. The music and décor are very relaxing with an Itallian Theme. However, the host / servers are obviously focused on self. When we arrived the place was about 25% occupied. The host first tried to seat us immediately next to booth with young children. We asked for a different booth a short distance away. Before our pizza came, a group of 16 came in who had obviously pre-ordered their food, the restaurant knew they were coming. At this point there were four other tables / booths occupied in addition to the larger group. The host had seated everyone immediately adjacent to this large, loud crowd. My wife was livid. They had a sufficient number servers but yet chose to seat everybody in one small section, presumably so they could clean the rest of the establishment with an eye toward getting out of there as soon as possible at the end of their shift. Bottom line: the pizza is overpriced and nothing special, the atmosphere is nice but you likely be seated immediately adjacent to other patrons even if they is only one other occupied table. We will not be going back.
