This little Italian place is the real thing if you're looking for cuisine that's true Southern Italian rather than the ambiance filled pseudo-Italian places that abound. Nothing fancy but a down-home place that even attracts prom crowds. I have been coming here for 30 years when Mama Rosa used to make the eggplant parmigiana. I have traveled all over Italy and Sicily and still this little gem is the benchmark for certain offerings like bruschetta, eggplant parmigiana, pasta digiorno, cannoli. The bread is real Italian style. The wines chosen match the plates and are very reasonably priced. The service is prompt and courteous by long employed wait staff. As an Italian-American transplant from the East coast, I thank God for this consistently excellent down-home ristorante so I need not fly to the South end of Hartford, the North end of Boston or Little Italy in the Big Apple. Kudos to this family for sharing what they have done so well for 2 generations in Ann Arbor. Please pour me another bicchiere di Sangiovese, per favore!
