They rather put down the animals than finding them a home! 7/28/2011

This place always has so many animals because they make it almost impossible for people to adopt. The application is about 6 pages long and asks ridiculous questions. I wanted to adopt a dog that's been there for over six months but they didn't let me adopt him because i have an electric fence instead of the physical one and they didn't think i could handle him because he was starting to show signs of separation anxiety... really? First, I would be anxious too if i was in a place like that. Second, I took care of about 50 big dogs per day for two years plus I owed a 90 pound dog and never have any problems, so don't tell me what i can or can't handle. The people processing the adoption applications think they know everything about dogs and like to play God with their lives. They don't care if the dog have to be put down because of their incompetence. All they care about is pretend they are doing their job when they are NOT. If you have to give an animal away please do not take it to the aspc in annapolis. Try to give it to a friend or to a non-kill shelter (same for donations). My friend took the cat there and they said the cat would be put down because he was anxious so she took him to animal control instead and he is currently there waiting to be adopted. Don't waste your time at the aspca in annapolis, I feel sorry for the poor animals who pay the consequences of these people not doing their job in finding them good homes. I bet if a staff member had to be put down whenever an innocent animal is put down, the staff would be more enthusiastic about finding homes for these animals. I'm sure if the dogs and cats at the aspca in annapolis could speak, the would fire all the current staff and hire a new staff that really cares about their needs. more
