We ordered a white macadamia cake with chocolate filling for my sons 5th birthday. We got chocolate cake with cherry filling. We had already cut into the cake, which is how we found out it was wrong, and began serving our guests. My husband called the bakery and told them it was the wrong cake. He was asked to bring it back. He told the lady we had already started to serve the cake because there is no way to explain to a 5 year old that sure he can blow out the candles on his cake, but wait, you cant have any because we have to take it back to the bakery because they totally screwed up! She said that is fine, we will refund you the entire cost. You will have a gift certificate ready for you when you come in on Monday. Well I went in today and was given a gift certificate for only HALF the cost. They proceeded to tell me because we did not bring back the cake they could only refund 50%! Should I have had everyone spit out the cake so I could take it back? Should I have sent my 5 year old into a crying fit because I needed to take the cake away from him? No! They messed up on one of the most important days in which a cake is needed and they have the balls to tell me they won?t refund it? I?m sorry but that is NOT okay. They decorated the wrong cake. They gave us a substandard cake. The flavor was nothing like what we ordered and should have gotten. If I wanted chocolate with cherry filling I would have ordered it. Instead I was stuck serving guests something I did not promise them. We had been raving about this White Macadamia cake for weeks prior to the party. Everyone was looking forward to tasting it. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!!! By the way, anyone want to buy a gift certificate from me? more
