Low quality since original owners (real NY'ers) left!! 3/21/2011

Reading the prior reviews, it's sad to see this place fall from grace! I've been searching for ""authentic"" NY style pizza since I've moved to Houston from Brooklyn. This place definitely does not make the cut. Ingredients weren't fresh, my giant slice tasted old and pre-frozen, and generally lacked taste. I kept coming back until I finally pinpointed why the sudden demise of the place --new ownership! The original owners were, in fact, NY'ers who knew what we worship about our pizzas up there. They nailed it each time! The new owners seem lazy and unmotivated (um, the interior?? The place needs a MAJOR upgrade!). I'm also assuming there's other factors, as I have seen the owners stumble into his place of business drunk on more than one occasion. I'm not even kidding! It's sad to see such a potentially thriving place just be so carelessly run. I hear dthe original owners opened up a new pizza shop on Louetta & 249 --Guido's, so I checked it out. It is exactly what NYPizza (on 249 at Willowbrook) was in it's glory days. Now it's just a hot mess--save ur funds! For NY'ers, hop on 249 S, take the exit for Louetta & Guido's will be on your left hand side --I'm seriously endorsing this place, lol. It's THAT damn good! more
