Making the decision to euthanize a beloved animal is very difficult and painful. On two separate occassions this clinic encouraged us to put down our pets. In one case, they told us there was nothing they could do for our much loved 3 year old persian cat, who developed pneumonia after being stranded outside on a cold and rainy night. At the last minute, my daughter took the cat in her arms and asked to sleep with her one last time. During the night, the cat purred. We took her to VMC the next day and she was cured a week later. Two years later, the cat still sleeps with my daughter. In the second case, PFAH told us to euthanize our golden retriever. Again, we declined and the dog survived her temporary ailment and lived another three happy years. The front desk is typically rude (though a few are nice), the doctors really seem to care for the most part -- but you need to be the best judge of whether your pet is ready to go on to the next world. more
