Was visiting Manhattan this past weekend and went to STK on Friday evening for dinner with a few friends. We had late dinner reservations at 10pm and were seated promptly, but it's definitely tight quarters. I honestly believe that no matter what time you have reservations, this place is going to be working at capacity.
The atmosphere is great, very chic and full of beautiful people, so if that's something you're interested in, you won't be disappointed. There is a lot going on here and music is fairly high volume, but wasn't overwhelming to the point where you couldn't talk to those at your table or around your table.
The food is excellent. Great steaks and the sides are fantastic. Since it was a late lunch, and we were on a mission to go out afterward, I stuck to the extremely fair priced small skirt steak and haricot verts. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly and not a bad size. The haricot were crisp and had great flavor. I also tried the mac and cheese which was fantastic.
Our server, Brianne was good but I think that the waitresses and waiters don't really have much contact with their patrons. She took the order, came back maybe once throughout the meal and then brought check. I'm guessing that's to ensure a quicker turnover, but at no point did we feel rushed.
Will be back, great time!
