Don't tell them what you are willing to spend. They will give you mediocre and inflate thier prices to match that value. I did not have anything custom made they ordered from a bulk manufacturer and just had to set the stone in a 4 prong setting. They got it done but when I asked why it was so expensive ""THE COST OF GOLD"" the only reason I was told. They constantly referenced ""I see you wanted to spend $500"". Sure I was over charged I took the earrings to another place got a value of $339. Exact mounting out of a catalogue and jem size. I sent a reply to Jewelsmith of why the high cost again in the email they refered to ""you wanted to spend $500""
