Not typical of Comfort Inn's 11/4/2011

We arrived in San Diego late; it was dark, traffic was heavy and we were tired after driving 9 hours from Sacramento.\r \r We had a coupon for the Comfort Inn on Hotel Circle. We'd stayed at several Comfort Inn's over the years and felt comfortable staying in another one.\r \r They faked honoring the coupon ($59 - normally $69) then explained that there was an $8 parking fee on top of the rate. With our senior/AARP discount, we ended up paying full price.\r \r In the room, I killed a bug in the tub, the floors looked dirty ( I spread out towels to walk on), there was no fridge or microwave. We were so tired, we ordered an awful pizza from the flyer in the room then went to bed. While we slept okay, it was from exhaustion, not comfort.\r \r A lot of the hotels in Hotel Circle are over 20 years old. Unless the advertisements say something about being renovated or upgraded, they are probably starting to fall apart.\r \r Not recommended. more
