We purchased cooper slate from the Tile Center and asked the owners who they would recommend to install the tile. They stated Rick, the Tile Jockey, had installed tile in both their homes. We contacted Rick, he was reluctant to come to our home in the evening for a bid, charged top dollar, but because of the Tile Center's recommendation we hired him. Big Mistake! Rick showed up at 9:30, packed up at 2:30 with an hour lunch. His work was sloppy, two tiles came to a point, the ends broke off and he just covered it with grout. His job of sanding the ends of the slate was so poor we did it ourselves. During the time he was working he got several calls from the Tile Center for work. Somehow I think there is a kickback.
