I have been shopping at this store since they opened many years ago and most of their fabrics were $6/yard. The selection and quality has grown over the years, but the prices have too, and their staff - who used to be very friendly - seem to feel most inconvenienced about having to wait on anyone except their inside-the-beltline regulars/design consultants. I had outpatient surgery at Rex an stopped in the same day (because of proximity) to order a specific fabric. The store was not busy and several clerks were putting rolls away, yet I had to wait over 10 mins. to be greeted, yet a designer who had approached the counter after me was immediately served. Then the clerk kept asking me questions in a condescending tone. As she stepped into the back, I overheard her make a negative comment about my appearance (per pre-op instructions, I was wearing none of my usual make-up, skin or hair products, and pull-on shorts and T-shirt, yet I was clean and neat). I love the merchandise, but my view is the clerks' attitudes say a lot more about them than me. Life is short and l prefer to patronize stores who appreciate my business and treat me in a respectful - or at least not disrespectful - way.
