Disappointed - Bad, Bad, Bad 5/12/2010

I started eating at King Biscuit when I first moved to Houston in 1998. Over the years, the quality of their food has fluctuated dramatically. Unfortunately, the restaurant is clearing in a down swing. Having had one of the worst meals in memory there last night, I will now be writing this restaurant off. The bad experience started with drinks. My wife ordered a glass of white wine. Since the bartender didn't have a cold bottle of the wine ordered, she decided to chill the wine by shaking it up in a shaker full of ice. So, my wife ended up with a glass of chilled, watered-down wine. Next, we ordered the spinach dip, which we've had many times in the past. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the dip was nothing more then a bowl full of congealed cheese, mixed with what tasted like frozen spinach. Finally, my wife and I both ordered the ""famous"" blackened redfish tacos. Again, I've ordered this dish in the past, and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, last night the tacos were made with very small pieces of poorly seasoned frozen fish, which tasted very BAD. With all of the great restaurants in Houston competing for diners' business, not to even mention all of the great new restaurants in the Heights, it's unfortunate that King Biscuit has simply given up. In the future, I'll be eating elsewhere. Cons: Bad Food; Ignorant Staff more
