Discriminatory Policies 4/8/2010

When I went to pick up my shoes the owner's son was extremely rude. I asked them why the boots I asked to be shined were cracked and dry. They told me they would not be responsible for any damage to my very expensive boots. The owner, a much older gentleman, then came to the front of the store and told me to leave. I let him know that I merely wanted to know why my boots were damaged and another pair of shoes not repaired correctly. He then threatened to call the police. It was the most bizarre situation I have ever found myself in. I am not a native of Des Moines and had not really encountered this type of discrimination until this incident. The work was mediocre at best and the environment was hostile and extremely unprofessional. Just because a business has been around forever doesn't make the best thing around. Cons: Narrow-minded and prejudice more
