The Frseno's CCSPCA has killed 40,000 animals in the past 12 months--that's 80% of the animals taken in. They have only a 10% adoption rate (5% of which is due to non-profit rescues stepping in and taking animals that were scheduled to be killed), which is dismal. The national average is a 50% kill rate. Good shelters do much better than that. There is a proven solution to the killing, called No-Kill (which means only killing animals that are beyond veterinary care or are too aggressive to safely adopt out) but the CCSPCA refuses to even try. It doesn't cost more (actually saves money in the long-run). To learn more, go to Facebook and do a search for "FixFresno".
