A great time and a must-visit piece of Seattle history 1/18/2010

Without a doubt the best dive bar on the North end of town. It’s a good thing that The Cabin is crammed with local historical significance (it was one of the first 6 establishments in WA State to be granted a liquor license after prohibition), or else there might not be enough people to keep it in business. Which would really be too bad, because this tavern set against a backdrop of multi-million dollar Richmond Beach homes is full of character. The bar is as (angularly) crooked as the floor and ceiling, the jukebox is always playing something good, and in the summer you can hang on the patio and catch a great breeze blowing in off the Sound. The food isn’t anything to smirk at either, especially by typical pub grub standards. Couple this with The Cabin’s full bar and great selection of microbrews, and you’ve just found yourself the perfect place to kick back and have a good time. Pros: Great character, food, atmosphere Cons: Patio can sometimes be a bit smoky more
