What the?!? 9/10/2009

I have no idea why I just wasted so much of my time and money visiting this particular doctor.\r \r Last week, I had my first appointment - just a general check-up to make sure all's well and to have a couple suspicious moles looked over. Now I can't say it was anything like I remember my childhood checkups (no urine sample, no finger stick, no examination of ears/nose/eyes), but he listened to my heart & breathing, performed a couple breathing tests, gave me an EKG, put me on a week's trial of Advair, and referred me to a specialist for my moles. He then told me to make an appointment for this week to make sure all went well.\r \r Well, the Advair gave me headaches and, as far as my breathing, I didn't notice a single change (not that I'm surprised - I'm a healthy 24 y/o with no history of breathing problems). However, I finished the entire trial as I thought my breathing was the whole reason for my repeat visit this week.\r \r I just returned from my second appointment and I can inform you that it took 29 minutes for the *entire* ordeal (as that was exactly how much time had elapsed on the parking meter - so of course this includes the time to walk to the office and the time to wait for the doctor). I may have squeaked out a whole 5 minutes of the doctor's time. And that whole 5 minutes was spent with me reminding him what procedures were performed last week and *NO* further advice or recommendations being given. Why was I on the Advair in the first place? No idea, but apparently it's not important for me to continue it or even look into alternative solutions. Was there even a problem in the first place? Makes one wonder. He even told me I could stop taking the Advair if it was giving me headaches. Ummm - hello? You only gave me a week's supply and it ran out the night before this appointment. I would think a doctor worth his degree could at least recall (particularly *while* looking at my chart!) what and how much medication he personally gave me a WEEK ago!!\r \r I feel like I've been scammed to tell you the truth. Don't wate your time and money. You'll regret it and may even end up being given medications you don't need. I'll never visit him again. Pros: Give me a minute. I may think of one. Cons: What a scam. more
