my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here SO much. India house is $20 cheaper than any hotel in the city and you get to meet so many people from so many different places. we enjoyed our room (a full room of a house), which had a communal bathroom (not problem and very clean!), a pool, a full kitchen and a communal living room.
this was way better than a hotel because it allows you to meet other travelers, feel part of a community while on your trip, see way more of the city and instead of sitting in a heavily carpeted and furnished hotel room- you get to stay in a real room in a real house with wood floors (like spending the night with relatives who are really really artistic and cool).
the staff were very friendly and remembered who we were, and helped us to find some amazing things to do- like seeing a second line parade to save a hospital. now you don't just stand on the sidelines while people throw you candy... you jump in and dance and sing to the band or bands as you march for a cause!
this is definitely a breath of fresh air and a throw back to the 60's for enjoying a community on vacation rather than being holed up in a stuffy hotel room.
Pros: affordable and great atmosphere
Cons: not the most comfy bed.
