We've been taking our Morkie to see Dr. Shoolman since puppyhood. Dr. Shoolman can be gruff on his bad days, but you choose a vet because he's good with animals, not necessarily people, right? In any case, he's become much friendlier with us over the years. I suspect it's mostly because our dog is fit, active, and social. The doc seems to have a disdain for owners who allow their dogs to be overweight or timid. I'm not defending his very apparent air of judgmentalism, but I see it as yet another sign of how much he cares for your pet, if not for you.
