Cracked plates 8/20/2009

I took some friends to Chancery today for lunch. While their food order looked quite appetizing, I ordered the Enchilada plate. I was disappointed with the food. It looked and tasted a little bland. Ok, I can deal with that. The Chancery is not an authentic Mexican restaurant. What I could not deal with was the fact that the Enchiladas came on a plate that was cracked. Half of it was covered by the food itself. While I would not hesitate in sending the food back had I been with my family, I was unable to do so today due to the company I was with. Many people would not give a second thought to a cracked plate but considering it harbors germs and bacteria, say nothing about making the presentation visually unappealing, whomever put the food on the plate should have known better. Is the cost of a plate worth having a patron get sick because of it? Is it worth a patron like me writing a somewhat negative article such as this? Perhaps not. Pros: Other dishes looked ok from my vantage point Cons: My dish was cracked. Unapealing food. more
