Both of my daughters are disabled. Katie has unilateral deafness and Robyn autism. The decision to send them to preschool was a frightening one, as they had been under the comforting shelter of early intervention since the time they were just a year and a half old, and all of it took place in our home. The concept of having my children away from me was terrifying, but I had nieces and even friends who had attended Paley Early Learning Center as kids and never heard anything but positive reviews.
