If the lines at Al's are out the door and you feel like hanging out for a bit (as opposed to eating as fast as possible because the guy standing behind you in eying your food and waiting for you to finish and get up) walk across the street and down a set of stairs and you get to the Dinkytowner. I couldn't give two sihts about local hip hop but the served-all-day breakfast here is fantastic. The 2 biggest problems with the place are that some of the servers are extremely inattentive (some are also very nice) and that if you're drunk and need a tex-mex on a Saturday night there's probably a lame show there with a five dollar cover, which you would have to pay in order to enter.
Get the tex-mex, the farmers breakfast, the scrambler, a blueberry pancake to split with the table, and/or the eggs benedict or you will be sorry and jealous of your friends plate.
Pros: Huge portions, cheap-ish, dark
Cons: Service, lunch/dinner menu.
