Separating snowmobiling (which is super fun) from the snowmobile company (this one is below average) is important. This company's snowmobiles are not well maintained, and you're asked to literally give them a blank check before you are allowed to ride. In my ""pack"" of about 10 riders leaving at the same time, one of the other riders was told ""oh, the starter is burned out on that one, you have to pull start it"". One of the ski alignment bars was bent on another machine. Finally, my snowmobile wouldn't start when it was time to leave, and they finally ended up having to give me another one. Not a big confidence builder right before venturing miles into the backwoods in freezing temperatures! Even worse, although a sign on the premises says ""For Unguided rentals, a $500 authorization (per machine) is required on all snowmobiles in the form of Visa, Discover or MasterCard"", what's actually required is a signed, BLANK AMOUNT credit card bill, which they can literally fill in with any amount they feel like taking. When I mentioned that I was uncomfortable handing them a signed blank check, the guy rather abruptly told me ""sign it or you don't ride"". Well, having rented lots of things from lots of places, I know for a fact that the ""blank check"" isn't necessary, and I didn't particularly appreciate having to provide it. Pros: Great location to go snowmobiling on an unguided tour Cons: ""Blank check"" required, snowmobiles in poor condition more
