I wear my hair very short and hadn't had a trim in about 6 weeks. I live in the neighborhood and thought I would try Kenneth's just to support local business. I've been to upscale salons several times in my life, all over the states and one in Austin before. Never did such a simple 15 minute trim cost more than $20. I went in with full experience and no reason to think it would cost more. They were nice and friendly and very casual. Paula cut my hair and was of course a nice person but I noticed a simple razor cut (trim actually) was taking much longer than it should. 40 mins. later and a bit nervous why it would take so long, I'm just glad to be getting out of there and since I'd just gotten the cut (hard to tell how well it is until you get home and wash it, IMO) I couldn't say if it was worth it or not. When she told the receptionist to charge me $45 I nearly fell over! I simply couldn't believe it. To her credit, I never asked what it would cost so that is my fault. Had I ever had any idea it would cost so much I would have never gone there. I find it absolutely ridiculous to charge so much for such a simple cut and honestly have no idea why it took so long except she seemed to be purposely stringing it along. To make matters worse, over the next couple of days I saw that she did everything I specifically asked her to not do and my hair is too short in places it should be longer and way too long in places it should be shorter and more textured. It looks like I cut it myself. Had I paid $10 for what looks like a lawnmower was put to my head, I doubt I'd complain. I will not go back there.
Pros: Comfortable and friendly.
Cons: Overpriced for what I got.
