The first time I tried Longhorn Poboys, I was working on a Saturday. Service, while ""leisurely"" paced, was not inordinately slow. The atmosphere is very ecletic, but the real gem of this place is the food. They cut the meat for the gyros and toss it on the flat-top for that extra golden-brown crunch. The falafel is very tasty, possibly the best I've had in the Austin area to date. The tabouli is fresh, and the dolmas particularly tasty - I've only had them this good at a pricey ""sit-down"" restaurant. Granted, the limited seating can be a negative, especially during the lunch R-U-S-H, but it is well worth the wait, or take it ""to go"" and head for Waterloo Park for a sunny picnic. Make sure you skip the rolls and get your sammiches on a pita - they are unbelieveably great!
